Went to my kids' 5th grade graduation this morning. It was so nice to see them one last time. Plus the parents were nice enough to give the student teachers in my class a copy of the yearbook. It started last night around 9pm when Jenn and I camped outside Rockefeller Center for the Today Show (Bon Jovi was performing). So today I went into my old placement and the kids were so excited to see me. It definitely made me happy. One of the boys saw me and said, "Ms. Li you visit too often. I don't have time to miss you!" Awww...how cute is that? Kids say the darnest things and really know how to brighten your day. Gotta do homework...BOOO!

After a nap of 1.5 hours I woke up at 3:30am and got ready to go see the American Idol Top 2 on the Today Show (Yeah Blake!). Yesterday was the first day of my summer session A class. It went well enough. I know the class will go by really quickly. Booo for having 3 hours of class on Sunday. So yesterday was my last day of student teaching. It was a good day and I was sad to leave the kids. Of course I'm still going on the field trip with them on Monday and going to their Chorus and Play performances along with Graduation. Here's what I ended up getting from them:

Turned in my Literacy Portfolio today so all that I have left is a few more days of student teaching and paper grading.

With the curriculum presentation done there's only the literacy project left. Plus one week of student teaching. The semester is winding down...craziness. Not to say I don't need a break of course. Folks...we're in the home stretch.

CURRICULUM IS DONE!!! I'm proud of my group! It's being bound at Kinko's right now. Gotta do student teaching stuff and work on my non-fiction informational text. Heroes was great! I can't wait until next week. I can't believe I only have one more week of student teaching left...gotta think about what I want to do for the kids. I'm pooped.
